Un nouvel EP de concert de Squeeze, intitulé Best Of Squeeze Live, vient de sortir. Ce nouvel album de six titres enregistré en direct au Fillmore de San Francisco contient des classiques tels que « Tempted », « Up The Junction », « Annie Get Your Gun », « Another Nail In My Heart », « Some Fantastic Place » et « Cool For Cats ».
Bien que les leaders du groupe, Chris Difford et Glenn Tilbrook, aient hésité par le passé à utiliser le nom de Squeeze sans la majorité de ses membres classiques, Glenn Tilbrook nous a dit que tout ce que Chris Difford et lui écrivent et enregistrent ensemble ne peut être étiqueté que « Squeeze » : [“Rather foolishly, from my point of view, anyway, I was very into the idea that a band is a certain set of people, and then if that set would be blown around, it’s not that band anymore. Now, I see it differently, although there are similarities, because, I think this version of Squeeze that we have now is a proper band. It’s not me and Chris and anonymous people; it’s people who have character and personality, and play, brilliantly — very differently to the old Squeeze. But, I think that’s. . .  that’s a blessing. Pour l’instant, Squeeze n’a que deux concerts prévus aux Etats-Unis. Le groupe jouera le 14 septembre à Washington, D.C. au Wolf Trap et le 5 octobre à Saratoga, Californie au Mountain Winery.
